Lakis Mouratidis, Volos, Greece

Lakis Mouratidis was born in Drama (northern Greece) in 1950. After graduating as a surveyor, he worked on projects both in Greece and abroad in Europe, where he was able to express his artistic surrealist orientation as an art designer and engraver. At the heart of his work is his sense of aesthetics in uniting real things that do not belong together. It was only relatively late that Lakis Mouratidis decided to work exclusively in the artistic field. After an exhibition in 2004, he received numerous invitations to group exhibitions from all over Greece. He has also since designed book and CD covers for a number of well-known Greek writers and musicians, including Sokratis Malamas, Dimitris Zervoudakis, Michalis Patentalis and Panos Chrisostomou.
